A Very Happy Mother's Day!!!!
A Very Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmoms, great-grandmoms and anyone else out there raising/or having raised children! What an undertaking and a blessing!!! I got to spend Mother's Day doing everything I like! I made breakfast for everyone....eggs, pancakes, bacon!!! Yummo! I sewed a bit! I got to take pics of everyone on the beach! I got to eat at my favorite restaurant with my family! And I got the cutest vase and flowers, "love" plaques and cards from my dear children...don't you love children-made gifts???!!! Such treasures!!!!
I have some big news to share! As you all know, I love to sew and I almost exclusively use patterns by a wonderful and talented and oh so sweet woman, Carla Crim....Scientific Seamstress http://scientificseamstress.blogspot.com/2009/05/very-exciting-news.html. I have also been following the amazing textile designer, Jennifer Paganelli, http://jenniferpaganelli.typepad.com/sis_boom_day_dreams/2009/05/we-did-it.html. Jennifer's work is just breath-taking...and her fabric lines are gorgeous and filled with depth and color and just make me go weak in the knees!
....So the Big News...is that these two teamed up and have put together their first release....an adorable and versatile pattern called, "Sophie Tunic Top". I was very honored and excited to be a tester for the new pattern and received Jennifer's fabric with which to contruct two really cute tops for my girls! I made them an entire size too big since they are going to be cover-ups for the beach. The pattern was very easy to follow and the fabric is eye-catching!!! You can get the pattern here http://www.youcanmakethis.com/info/whats-new/Sophie-Tunic-Sizes-6mths-12.htm It's a great pattern for the beginner to the experienced! You'll feel like a pro!
So what better way to show you the finished product than on the beach! Without further ado....the Sophie Tunic Top:
After our beach session, we went out to eat a late lunch/early dinner. We were just getting ready to give our names, when someone walked up to us and asked how many we had in our party. He gave us his table beeper/light-up thingy....and we were next! No wait! How cool is that! We all enjoyed a yummy meal and had fun watching the people and the boats!
The nice waitress and several other customers complimented the girls on their tunics....I was told I should make children's clothing....what a great idea!!!! hahahahaha
After dinner we always make sure we donate a few dollars to the charity fund! Daddy lifts the girls up so they can reach the hole in the glass front! They love dropping the money in on the huge model ship!
I thought I would end with a goofy pic of Sarah and I! Daddy said something funny ...then....click......
