Signs of Spring!

Hello Everyone...sorry for the blog-delay! We had a few busy weeks there! But I noticed these in the garden today when I got the girls off of the bus......

Daffodils must mean Spring is on the way!!! I am so excited! So is Brooklyn! LOL...she dressed herself for a safari today...can you tell?

And our poor bushes still havent recovered...it looks like they have a part in them! hahaha!
And I see the three girls had just enough time to squeeze in a kick ball game after school. The sun is staying up just a little longer each day and rising with me in the AM!!! Yaaa again!!!!!

So the first week in March marks Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America...I know you've all seen the outfits so I will only include a couple of pics of them together on the big day! Inside......
...and outside....brrrrr the wore coats to school this day, don't worry!
The librarian was so cute with Devon...she took their picture and sent a copy home....here is a pic of the pic! Obviously she got dressed up too!

Here's a cute poem the little girls came home with today from school.....

Happy Reading

I promise to read, each day and each night.
I know its the key to growing up right.
I'll read to myself; I'll read to a crowd.
It makes no difference, if silent or loud.
I'll read at my desk, at home and at school.
On my beanbag or bed, by the fire or pool.
Each book that I read puts smarts in my head.
'Cause brains grow more thought, the more they are fed.
So I take this oath, to make reading my way.
Of feeding my brain what it needs every day.

So each day this week was a different theme....Wednesday was...... Wacky Wednesday of course....so they all dressed up in mismatched clothing. Sarah did everyone's hair and helped with the ensembles!

Sarah also had a project due where they had to decorate a shoe with a career. Now Sarah wants to be a pharmacist actually but she wanted to decorate her shoe to be a seamstress...isn't that so sweet? So here is the shoe decked out in sewing finery....

She had to write a poem too...and since we are on a poem theme here I will include it!

Seamstress
I will pluck with luck that my sewing as struck,
and I didn't take out the wrong stitch.
I measure and pin plus what I feel within,
I will do a good job!
I sew and I stop, now look what I got,
I feel like a real seamstress!

Happy news!!! Carla (aka Scientific Seamstress) and Jennifer (aka SisBoom) are hard at work on the release of a new pattern! Here is a sneak peak at one coming soon..... The Marlo Top and Dress, named after my friend. I am so excited....I love it!!! Its the adult version of the Cathy Top/Dress! It will make the perfect summer top and I will be making plenty more! Yaaa! Ohhhhh... and while I am on the subject, Jennifer Paganelli's new line of fabric is hot off the press....go it get it while you can....pure fabulousness!!!!!!!

Close-up...

And I finished the purple skirts for the school's musical! Here's the whole set!

Now this weekend I have got to get my head together! So much going on! I have some fun news to share and lots of sewing to do for the spring....ideas are swimming in my head but I gotta get the time to actually work on them! I would also like to check out the new movie, Alice in Wonderland....I hope its not too scary!!! Have a great weekend!

  1. Nice to see signs of Spring somewhere! We are still buried in snow, but I can now see a little grass here and there around the trees! Brooklyn and Devyn looked so cute in their Dr. Seuss outfits! You really outdid yourself on those!
Wacky days at school are always fun. Those are the days that I don't care what gets pulled out from the closet!
Your Marlo top came out great, and you look so cute wearing it!
That was so great that you volunteered your time to make those skirts! I think I would be so purpled out though!
