Fun-Filled Weekends!

Summer must be close because every evening we hear the songs of the ice cream truck as it goes up and down the streets. We all yell...."Ice Cream Man!!" This evening the girls all ran down to the corner and bought their first ice cream of the year. We only do it a couple of times each summer but it is fun and they all sat out on the front porch enjoying their treats!!!

I love the three heads together.....

Let's see how much we can do in one day.....
Our first stop was Sarah's school. They hosted a fundraiser to raise money for "Kids dinner program"...they had a yard sale and games and food and crafts. The girls had a great time playing the games....

Here is Brook trying to throw the football in the hole...it was hard to do!!!

Devon attempts to tip-a-troll...

This was fun...Sarah attempted to throw this huge ball into the net!

Here is Sarah's go at the troll game..... and.....

.....she WON a cute pillow!

Another hard game was trying to throw a ball into the milk can.....practically impossible!

I know I said no more cotton candy.....but....they got two-for-one! Oh boy, I sure hope our dentist isn't watching!

Enjoying our nice day and beautiful weather!!!

Here is Sarah with her teacher who is absolutely awesome! She is so organized and really challenges the kids and is very upbeat and fun!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about her!!!

****************************************************************************
Believe it or not, after the school fundraiser we visited our second stop which was an Early American open-air living history museum. The Village brings to life the day-to-day activities of villagers living in South Jersey during the “age of homespun.” (1790-1840). Visitors can make a personal connection between the past and present through the interactive, educational, and hands-on family activities."
First things first, all bad kids need to be punished...hahahaha....

The girls kept asking how the stocks actually would hold anyone since they could easily pull their head and hands out....I thought that was a pretty good question...I said they made the holes larger so tourists wouldn't get stuck!!!

Inside a restored home....

Trying out hats in a log cabin. Afterwards the girls tried sitting on a bed strung with ropes and an itchy wool blanket....they also got to peak upstairs where the 10-14 children would sleep on the floor of the loft...

A bonnet...

Next, we went to a one-room school house...cool desks!

Sarah got to wear a dunce cap and sit in the corner!

We continued our wonderings through the village and ended our visit so we could go home and rest before going to our third stop....

*********************************************************************
After a brief rest, we continued our day with a trip to the "bike rodeo". This event included a bike auction, games and prizes, food and a bike obstacle course and safety check. Here are the girls checking out the course....

Pick a duck game....and keep picking till you win...hahahha

Throw a ball into a glass jar....

More games and fun....

Here are all the bikes for the auction! Lots!

Next, we went back outside for the bike safety check and obstacle course. It was such a nice interaction between our police officers and the children! Here an officer is explaining the course to Brooklyn...

Brooklyn earned a certificate after completing the course...

Devon beginning her course and practicing what to do at an intersection....

Yaaaa, she did it and earned her certificate....

The girls with some of their friends....

And that folks was the end of a beautiful day filled with fun and games and family moments together!! I forgot to mention they filled my pockets with prizes and candy....so we went straight home and brushed our teeth!
*****************************************************************
A birthday party!
The girls were recently invited to a wonderful birthday party of a sweet friend! The girls got to bounce and jump for joy on the huge bouncy bounce! They really loved every minute of it!!!

And if that weren't enough, they also had two ponies come for unlimited rides around the gorgeous green yard!

This pony's name was "Buttons"....

And this pony is named "Tony"...

What fun! I love both of these little ponies! I see them a few times a year!!!

I couldn't resist taking pictures of the beautiful cake and cupcake tree....

Here are the party-goers enjoying ice cream cones on a warm sunny day....

Warning!!!!
The party girl's older brother and friends discovered a snake in the yard and brought it over for us to admire....it appeared to be a large garden-type snake of some sort...they let it go in the woods!

******************************************************************

And so ends another weekend! After the party I finished sewing some of the things I posted earlier! I hope the nice weather continues and we will be posting some fun things coming up this week....including a trip to the Ocean City boardwalk! Yaaaa! Have a great rest of the week!!
